Outdoor

The web page you are reading isn’t linked from my public pages. I don’t offer this service to the public.

I sometimes do therapy out of doors, because I believe in the therapeutic effects of exercise, because it offers many useful metaphors, because it allows me to observe clients dealing with real and partly unpredictable situations and because it encourages them to “get out of their heads.”

I don’t think this is suitable for every client. Some of the most obvious no-nos would be self-destructive or dangerous clients, “borderline” clients who might have difficulty with the therapeutic relationship and people who had problems with self-care. Also, I would not want to do this with people who had not already been assessed in a conventional setting.

For these reasons I offer this only to pre-licensed clinicians. That lets me know I am working with people who are knowledgeable about therapy. The fact that I am experimenting and learning as I go is another reason for working only with sophisticated users and at low “student” fees.
